Lemon oil cleans and polishes wicker to keep it looking vibrant for many seasons to come. Simply dip a clean cloth in lemon oil and wipe down your wicker furniture. You might want to do this twice a year after deep cleaning your furniture. Make sure the pieces are completely dry before you rub them down with lemon oil

Rattan furniture is “extremely durable” according to Bridgman, which makes it “the best material that we’ve found for outdoor furniture”. It’s expected to last a minimum of 10 years, but the furniture’s durability is affected by how it is made
In terms of versatility and durability rattan furniture scores much more than wicker furniture. Rattan features a solid core and is available in an array of natural colors. Wicker furniture, on the other hand, may or may not be strong. It basically varies with the material used for manufacturing wicker furniture.
PE or HDPE Rattan are the best types of rattan as they have an eco-friendly manufacturing process, they’re recyclable, weather-proof and tougher than PU or PVC. What’s more, they’re mould-resistant.
PE rattan is famed for its weatherproof qualities and is very resistant to rain, snow, frost and UV rays. The frames on your rattan garden furniture will have a huge impact on how long your furniture lasts which is why it is extremely important to check this before purchasing.
Use a toothbrush or other soft brush to clean in the cracks and crevices, using the same suds-only cleaning method. Repeat weekly for best results. To restore dry, cracked, or split rattan, apply boiled linseed oil with a brush. When the furniture won’t absorb any more oil, wipe it clean with a soft cloth.
